iphone 3gs without plan
Will I be charged for using an iphone without data plan?
I just recently bought a iphone 3gs and I’m planning to put my SIM card in it to use it as a regular phone (using wifi for internet only sometimes). Will I be required to add a data plan(internet service) since I’m using the iphone? My current carrier is AT&T. Also, is there a limit for the amount of time of web surfing through wifi on the iphone? Thanks!

If you use internet through the 3G, you will have to pay-per-use which might be expensive if you use a lot and for iPhone, eveything seems to want to connect to the internet so watch your step when you play around with your iPhone.
I heard some people said that if AT&T network detects that you use an iPhone, they will automatically apply the data plan to your number. However, my friend is using AT&T number with no data plan with the iPhone and there’s no such a problem with him.
There’s no limit for web surfing using Wi-FI on iPhone.
