iphone 3g ebay
will i be able to get an iphone 3G unblocked on ebay?
im thinking about getting the new iphone 3g when its released, and getting it on ebay unlocked and jailbroken. but my friend told me that i wont b able to do that because no1 will b selling them on ebay cos they wont b able to unblock them bcos they have to b activated instores! is this true or will i b able to get my hands on an unblocked one!
Your friend is right – the iPhones are going to be activated in store (either at AT&T or Apple) this go round. As a result, it is impossible to purchase an iPhone 3G without committing to a 2-year contract. Down the road, the iPhone 3G is supposed to be available for AT&T’s Pay As You Go service; but who knows when that will be. Also, stores are limiting the devices to 1 per customer.
You never know what will turn up on eBay…people always find a way to sell just about anything there. 
So…you may see some jailbroken/unlocked iPhone 3Gs listed on the site shortly after the release. Just expect to pay a hefty penny for it…the seller will want to recoop the $175 termination fee, on top of the cost of the phone, shipping, and their profit.
